7th & 8th Grade General Science: Today in science students began class by finishing up the Discovering Cells worksheet and packet that was begun on Friday. After about fifteen minutes of class time, we shifted directions and introduced the next activity. The directions for the cell simile collage project was explained to the students and then the students were given the rest of class to brainstorm ideas for their analogies. Once students had their analogy, they were able to start comparing the individual parts of a cell to each component of their analogy.Homework: Finish the packet of coloring a plant and animal cell, including answering the questions if the student did not finish in the class time allotted.

This is a group activity where students are working together as a group to create three separate rectangular prisms, and then calculating the surface area and volume of each to complete the worksheet.
