Tuesday October 20th
7th & 8th Grade General Science: Today's science class consisted of the students continuing to work on their procedures needed to complete the deer study. Today we introduced the idea of canopy coverage in the forest through estimation to give the result a quantifiable number. We have set the date of Thursday October 29th as the day of the field trip to Eaglecrest to put everything we have learned about data collection to work in the field.Homework: none
7th Grade Math: Today in math students went over the results from the area/perimeter exercise from yesterday, compared answers with each other and found the correct answer together. Students were then introduced to section 2.5 and scientific notation. We went over the general definition and ideas associated with scientific notation, before doing quite a few examples as a class.

8th Grade Math: In math 8th graders continued their life math project. They finished working on the process of buying a house and how to juggle the money aspects of the process. They also worked on the options of renting an apartment/house if they couldn't afford to buy a house.
