Monday October 13th

7th & 8th Grade General Science:
Today the class worked on a follow up extension to the lab completed in class last Wednesday. In this lab students worked to answer the question what is the best slope of a ramp to make a marble roll the farthest. Students worked through a two hour block period on finishing the lab, collecting and organizing their data, and then they began working on their reports.
Homework: 10 o'clock science class must finish their lab write up for the marble rolling lab and turn it in at the start of class tomorrow.
REMEMBER to include the following:
Purpose: (Question the lab was focusing on)
Materials: (what supplies were used)
Procedures: (What steps did students follow)
Results: (Table and Graph of their data)
Conclusions: (answer to the question and how these results can be applied to other situations)

7th Grade Math:
Today in math 7th graders continued learning about probability. Students applied probability to a dice rolling game using three dice.

Homework:
Write down all the different possible ways that three dice can be rolled and their values combined to equal the number that was assigned to students during class.
EXAMPLE: (if a student was assigned the value of four during today's class)
Value of 4 is possible by a probability of 3 out of 216 because of the three ways to get a value of four listed below.

Dice #1 Dice #2 Dice #3
1 1 2 POSSIBLE OUTCOME #1
1 2 1 POSSIBLE OUTCOME #2
2 1 1 POSSIBLE OUTCOME #3
