Tuesday April 7th

7th & 8th Grade General Science: Today in science students began working with their groups on the research of their instruments for their "band".
Homework:
  • Begin researching instruments that they will construct over the coming two weeks.
  • Start gathering supplies from home and coming to school with materials to build instruments
  • Develop a list of supplies for teachers to look for and purchase for instruments
7th Grade Math: Today 7th graders worked on practice questions for the SBA math test next week. Students then continued to learn about percents and fractions.
Homework: Complete 13-29 ALL on 9.1 Practice

8th Grade Math: Today 8th graders completed 10 questions from the Alaska Practice SBA. We then corrected and went over the Chapter 5 test. Tomorrow there will be a re-test for students that did not do well on the original exam.

Thursday April 2nd

7th & 8th Grade General Science: Today in science students continued working on their organizational table/notes of the various categories of musical instruments. Upon finishing this assignment students completed a quiz over the topics we have covered this week.
Homework: none

7th Grade Math:
Today 7th graders continued to review for the chapter 5 test.
Homework: Study for Chapter 5 test

8th Grade Math: Today 8th graders worked on an individual plan to prepare for the test tomorrow. Students had the choice to either work on their notebooks, complete problems from the textbook, or work on problems from the Chapter 5 Cumulative Review worksheet.

Tuesday March 31st

7th & 8th Grade General Science: Today in science students continued working on their assignment from yesterday. The next step was to refine their explanation of how the sounds they identified were made based upon information they learned from a short reading, a short video clip, and several demonstrations.
Homework: none

7th Grade Math:
Today 7th graders continued to review for the chapter 5 test.
  • Complete Chapter 5 standardized test practice
  • Complete Quiz 2 (all)
8th Grade Math: Today 8th graders worked out of the text book to continue to learn how to solve equations and inequalities that have fractions and/or decimals. The chapter 5 test is scheduled for Thursday of this week.
Homework: Complete #10-18 ALL and 25 & 26 on Section 5.7 Practice. This assignment will be completed tomorrow and turned in on Wednesday.

Monday March 30th

7th & 8th Grade General Science: Today in science students reviewed properties of waves by completing a pop quiz over the terms/properties of wavelength, amplitude, and frequency. Students then began studying sound by identifying different sounds they could hear outside. They then classified them into 2-4 categories and attempted to explain the science behind how the sound was made.
Homework: none

7th Grade Math:
Today 7th graders took a break from the cabin projects to work out of the text book. There is a test over chapter 5 scheduled for Thursday of this week. Students spent the class period reviewing material we have covered that will be on the test.
Homework:
  • Finish Review Assignment: Chapter 5 Review Games and Activities. Show all work on separate piece of paper.
  • Complete Mid Chapter 5 Quiz (EVENS) to begin review for test this Thursday
8th Grade Math: Today 8th graders worked out of the text book to learn how to solve equations and inequalities that have fractions and/or decimals. The chapter 5 test is scheduled for Thursday of this week.
Homework: Complete #1-9 ALL on Section 5.7 Practice. This assignment will be completed tomorrow and turned in on Wednesday.

7th & 8th Grade General Science: Today 8th graders attended the Apprenticeship Fair at the UAS Tech Center downtown.
Homework: none

7th Grade Math:
Today students began working on their final designs for the cabins. Each team of two students is responsible to draw a scale drawing of the following:
A- Floor plan/footprint of cabin (including deck)
B- Floor plan & Walls (including all interior walls)
C- Exterior & Roof Profile
Homework:
  • A- Floor plan/footprint of cabin (including deck)

  • Review #7 (Rates and Unit Rates)

8th Grade Math: In math 8th graders began researching companies they might be interested to invest in the stock market. They will finish this research tomorrow.
