Core 3 Mathematics:
Today students reviewed how to divide with fractions. We then introduced section 5.5 which is teaches how to solve equations using multiplicative inverse.
Homework: Review #5 (Fractions) is due Friday
Life Science:
In science students continued working on their research of the body systems they are studying for their group's pop-up book. A rough draft of their writing was due today (Wednesday) by the end of class.

Tuesday January 22nd
Core 3 Mathematics:
Today students learned about dividing fractions. The class completed some problems which were checked off by Mr. Kovach, and then they began working on 5.5 Practice which is due tomorrow.
Homework: Finish problems from section 5.5 Practice which is due tomorrow (#6, 8, 10, 12, 20, 26, 30, 36).
Life Science:
In science students continued working on their research of the body systems they are studying for their group's pop-up book. A rough draft of their writing is due tomorrow (Wednesday) by the end of class.
Homework: Rough draft of summary describing body system's overall function and the organs that make up that system.

Today students worked on "Multiplying Fractions" problems from their practice workbook (section 5.4).
Homework: Finish any problems not completed in class from section 5.4 Practice (#2, 4, 6, 10, 12, 14, 18, 22, & 24). Also, finish Review #4 (Cricket Chirping Graph) which is due Friday at the start of class.

In science the class finished their dissection journals and then instructors introduced the Body Systems Pop-Up Book project.

Today students completed at quiz over 1/2 of Chapter 5. This quiz included material from section 5.1-5.3. Students were then given a brief introduction to the beginning of section 5.4 which covers multiplying fractions.
Homework: Finish Review #3 (Atomic Numbers/Weighty Matters) which is due Wednesday (tomorrow) at the start of class.

In science students finished dissecting frogs and identifying various organs from each "body system".
