Thursday September 27th

Core 3 Mathematics:
Today in math students reviewed material from chapter one in preparation for the chapter test tomorrow.
Homework: Prepare for chapter test. Finish any missing homework assignments from chapter one.

Life Science:
In science students continued the conclusion section of their scientific paper. The final draft of this paper will be due on Friday (tomorrow).

Wednesday September 26th

Core 3 Mathematics:
Today in math students were introduced to the four quadrants of a coordinate graph and how to graph integers.
Homework: Section 1.8 Practice on page 15 #2-20 EVENs (due Thursday along with section 1.7 Practice 2-26 evens).

Life Science:
In science rejoined their group of three and began writing the conclusion section of their scientific paper. The final draft of this paper will be due on Friday of this week.

Tuesday September 25th

Core 3 Mathematics:
Today in math students completed a P.O.D. quiz over "grade point averages". We then corrected last night's homework and reviewed finding the sum and difference of two integers.
Homework: Section 1.7 Practice on page 13 #2-26 EVENs (due Thursday).

Life Science:
In science students created a graph in Excel of the understory plant data collected during the field study of two local ecosystems. Tomorrow students will use the graphs to begin writing their section of the conclusion. The final draft of the scientific paper will be due on Friday of this week.

Core 3 Mathematics:
Today in math students completed a P.O.D. quiz over "grade point averages". We then corrected last night's homework and reviewed finding the sum and difference of two integers.

In science students began learning about making graphs in Microsoft Excel. We will continue making the graphs and tables on Tuesday of next week. The final draft of the scientific paper will be due on Friday of next week.

Core 3 Mathematics:
In math students went over their quiz from yesterday. We then introduced section 1.6 which focuses on subtracting integers.
Homework: Section 1.6 Practice #1-29 odds

Life Science:
Today in science the class finished their soil analysis labs which were associated with the Meadow and Forest study of last week. Other group members began creating graphs of the data that we entered into excel this week.

Core 3 Mathematics:
Today in math the class completed a quiz over sections 1.1-1.4 of Chapter One. We then went over the homework from the past two days.

Life Science:
Today in science the class continued their soil analysis labs which were associated with the Meadow and Forest study of last week. Other group members finished entering data that was collected in the field and completed a rough draft of their procedures.

Core 3 Mathematics:
In math we reviewed last night's homework and then introduced section 1.5 which covers adding and subtracting integers. Tomorrow there will be a quiz over sections 1.1-1.4 of chapter one.
Homework: Section 1.5 of the Practice Workbook #2-30 even (due along with 1.4 Practice Wednesday @ start of class). Get progress reports signed by parents and returned by Wednesday.

Life Science:
Today in science the class continued their soil analysis labs which were associated with the Meadow and Forest study of last week. Other group members began entering data collected in the field into excel spreadsheets.
Homework: Get progress reports signed by parents and returned by Wednesday.

Today students received progress reports which need to be shared with parents, signed, and brought back to class by Wednesday of this week (9/19/07). We then introduced section 1.4 which focuses on ordering and comparing of integers.
Homework: Section 1.4 of the Practice Workbook #2-30 even (due Wednesday @ start of class). Get progress reports signed by parents and returned by Wednesday.

Core 3 Mathematics:
Today in math students went over 1.1 and 1.2 homework from last night. We also introduced section 1.3, which focuses on order of operations.
Homework: 1.1, 1.2. & 1.3 Practice is due at the beginning of class on Friday (tomorrow).

Life Science:

Core 3 Mathematics:
Today students practiced how to use classzone.com, which offers free online tutorials and lessons relating to our McDougal Littel Pre Algebra Book. We also finished work that was started yesterday from section 1.1 (Variables and Expressions).
Homework: Section 1.1 and 1.2 Practice Worksheet due Friday

Life Science:
Today the afternoon science class completed the Meadow field study. We will continue our outdoor field work by collecting data in the forests surrounding Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School. Be sure to dress appropriately for whatever weather we may experience.
