Wednesday October 15th

7th & 8th Grade General Science: Today in science class students designed a simple systematic observation study to answer a question about the cars DHMS staff drive. Examples of questions students came up with include "What style of license plate is most common on teacher cars?, What percent of teacher cars are SUV's, What color car is most common amongst staff at DHMS?, Are U.S. made, or foreign-made cars more common amongst teachers at DHMS? etc, etc." Students braved the rain to collect their data and then we worked on starting the reports in the classroom.
Homework: Both classes need to finish a short scientific report for the "teacher's cars" study we completed in class today.
REMEMBER to include the following:
Purpose: (Question the lab was focusing on)
Materials: (what supplies were used)
Procedures: (What steps did students follow)
Results: (Table and Graph of their data)
Conclusions: (answer to the question and how these results can be applied to other situations)

7th Grade Math: Today in math 7th graders continued studying the difference between experimental probability and theoretical probability.
Homework: none

8th Grade Math: In math class 8th graders graders continued learning about theoretical and experimental probability.
Homework: Finish collecting data from "Making Purple" spinner game.
